Ayurvedic Vinyasa Yoga Retreat
With Sarajean Rudman
August 10 - 13, 2017
Discover how to create optimal balance in your life on and off the mat with Ayurvedic Vinyasa yoga.
When you harmonize to the melody of Mother Nature both individually and collectively by observing the principles of Ayurveda, and play that song to the tala or rhythm of Vinyasa yoga, the healing experience that results is profound and blissful.
Ayurveda is the sister science of yoga, an ancient medicinal practice based on a five-elemental approach to wellness. It is indigenous to India and deals with lifestyle, diet, herbal and spiritual practices for optimal health and longevity. The major principles in Ayurveda are “like increases like”, and “balance with opposites”. Ayurveda translates to “the science of life,” and recognizes three doshas, or bodily humors used to describe almost everything. Those three doshas are known as vata, pitta and kapha, and are comprised of combinations of the five-elements. You are comprised of a unique balance of all three of the doshas, as are the seasons, times of day, and times of life.
On the Ayurvedic Vinyasa Yoga Retreat you will learn to take the tri-doshic approach of Ayurveda on to the mat. Accompanying the rhythm of your Vinyasa yoga practice is Ayurveda – adjusting the tempo and flow for the time of day, time of life, time of year, and the innate awareness of what you, personally, need in the moment. This leads to a balanced, healing, and fulfilling sadhana or practice that will deeply settle your mind, body and heart. Immerse yourself in daily experiential Vinyasa yoga practices that will balance vata, pitta, and kapha doshas, and learn tools to take home into your own personal practice to create a greater daily balance through the observance of Ayurveda.
The retreat will be of particular interest to yoga practitioners, body workers or yoga professionals and is suitable for people who are in good physical condition and have been practicing yoga for at least one month.
CE credits possible through Yoga Alliance.
