Sri Sri Marma Practitioner Training
With Revathi Raghavan
December 14 - 18, 2017
The ancient definition of marma points, handed down to us through the centuries, is specifically “the various points on the body where the subtle life energy becomes matter, where thoughts transfer into the physical”. They are junction points in the body, fundamental built-in electrical switches. In fact any sore point on the surface of the body is a blocked marma.
The marma points link to the subtle channels called nadis (similar to meridians in the Chinese system of medicine). Just as in the physical body the passage ways become blocked by toxins, so too the tiniest of mental stresses will cloud or obstruct these subtle points, reducing the flow of energy.
Gentle pressure on the marmas releases the blocks and allows prana, or life energy to flow to the connecting organs or tissues giving them a new lease of life.
The marma technique is potentially the most restorative of the Ayurvedic treatments as it harmonizes the body’s built-in energy network.
The Marma Chikitsa technique is widely popular as a treatment. Simple and effective, with a minimum of equipment, it can be practiced anywhere.
Graduates may practice independently or work with Art of Living groups or Centers.
Those who wish to work professionally need to check their own state laws regarding” hands on healing” This is often different than massage authorization to practice. Feel free to contact us if you wish to pursue this path.
We do encourage members of our Art of Living family to take this course to be able to practice as a support for their family and friends.
